Introduction:
Responsible Breeders of Ragdolls
The Ragdoll is a breed of cat with a distinct colourpoint coat and blue eyes. A ragdoll is quite a large cat, and it has a semi-long and silky soft coat. American breeder Ann Baker developed Ragdolls in the 1960s. They are best known for their docile, placid temperament and affectionate nature. The name Ragdoll is derived from the tendency of individuals to go limp and relaxed when picked up. The breed is particularly popular in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
Ragdolls are known as dog-like cats due to their tendency to follow people around, their receptiveness to handling, and their relative lack of aggression towards other pets.
Ragdolls are distinguishable by their pointed coloration (where the body is lighter than the face, ears, legs, and tail), large round blue eyes, soft, thick coats, thick limbs, long tails, and soft bodies.
Introducing ourselves
We at Manorcats are relatively new to breeding, but with research and support we ensure our cats are as healthy and as possible.
We are registered as Breeders with The British Ragdoll Club. We have attended seminars and have gleaned much information and support from their tutelage.
For us it’s all about the cats’ welfare and the application of the TBRCC code of ethics.
Our Kittens were born in our bedroom and raised in our home. They are handled constantly to ensure they are socialised, and they will remain with their mother until they are at least 13 weeks old to give them the best chance.
